Two excellent male cross-breed puppies born October 5th, xxxx. Pups are currently 11 weeks old, UTD on shots and wormer and weigh around 15 pounds each. They are going to be medium sized dogs (normally my GSD pups are about 25 pounds and ratties are about 3 pounds at this age) and I imagine judging from their growth rate they should fill out at 30 - 40 pounds. Pups were raised inside to the age of 3 weeks and then moved to an outdoor strawed pen until the age of 6 weeks when they were moved to my fenced in back yard. They have been brought inside for a few hours daily since they were 6 weeks old. They're playful but very well-behaved, content to play with their toys or each other or to lie around patiently on their blanket. My work is very part time this time of year and I've spent lots of time with the pups. They have been socialized very well in a structured environment, played with daily and spoken to often. They'll bond with their new owners very well and I'll guarantee they'll be unforgettable and a once in a lifetime sort of dog.
These are two great little dogs. Behavior wise, they're just about pure GSD and physically they definitely favor their German Shepherd side with the exception of being smaller. They're a little more quick and agile like a terrier but their movements, stride, the way they lie down, the way they snap their jaws, etc are all shepherd. They also have German Shepherd hair and aren't fazed by cold weather. Their ears aren't up yet but they will be soon. They're confident and self-assured little dogs and very smart and playful. They have excellent ball drive. They would do wonderfully in a family setting, on a farm or as someone's best friend and if you lack for space to accommodate a large dog and need a protector, they would be good for that as well. Both parents are highly alert and have a good sense about what is going on around the neighborhood. These pups definitely got the best from both parents.
The mother is a 75 pound AKC registered high grade working line German Shepherd. She is an excellent example of her breed, extremely intelligent, dead pan serious at times yet loving and playful at others. She has an intense curiosity and she's very well disciplined. She's very athletic and loves to ride with me, go for walks, swim and play ball. She really is a top notch GSD with good herding instincts and a solid drive for cattle.
The sire is a 10 pound NKC working line rat terrier, long legged type. He's a fierce killer of mice and absolutely loves to run, take walks and play fetch. He's a real romeo and loves women, hanging out with me, good food and a warm bed. He's also very athletic, very intelligent and has sired some outstanding pups that were amazingly intelligent. Like my other dogs he's well behaved and trained in basic obedience.
